how much do extras get paid in movies/tv programs.

I've considered this myself. But I wouldn't expect it's enough to become a 9-5.

Crowd scene people only get between $20-$200 depending on what you actually do...extras that are like cashiers or waiters/waitresses in restaurants get the upper end

If it is so easy, why don't others do it and some stink at it? There is a method to it and it is extremely difficult to act convincingly as a complex three dimensional, fleshed out character

you are a moron. you know how many actors are looking for work. but you think i can get an audition for a movie? you are fukking clueless or high.
not much unless your in the union and you might be at a place for like 10-12 hours ...the most you might get for a day is a g and thats if your heavily featured on camera

you can't just go out and audition for a part in a movie. Agents exist to filter out the talent for auditions. Agents get breakdowns for real well paid projects that normal people don't get access too and to get an agent you need to have a legit background like a prestigious 2 year conservatory many years doing theatre or have somehow gotten real roles in the past or be so fukking gorgeous or have a look thats extremely marketable and different for an agent to take a chance on you
no where near as easy at it looks because your brain isn't programmed to put yourself in a whole different setting and be somebody else with words that don't come from your own thoughts but from a piece of paper...the majority of people sound wooden or like they are reading from a script
you literally have to fool your own brain and almost be borderline crazy to make it sound authentic because to be able to trigger such a gamut of emotions you almost can't be a normal person because normal people are taught from youth to hold back emotions and have a filter...with acting that all gets thrown away
