I always got the idea that, if they fukked with you, it was a you scratch my back and ill scratch yours. Maybe now, more than ever, since everbody is all friendly and shyt.

I would think now a days, a rapper would only charge you standard price for a verse if he couldnt use a verse from you cuz you arent popping.

You're on the right lines. I reckon it's more a verse for a verse in this day and age then it was before. Terius got a Hov' verse on that IV Play joint but it wouldn't surprise me if he didn't pay for that shyt considering how much writing and production he has done for Beyoncé in the not-too-distant past.

Wayne at his 06-08 peak would've charged quite a lot for a middling artist. I would've expected Lloyd to pay quite a bit for that "You" feature but I distinctly remember him saying he didn't charge for "Soldier".

Fast forward to 2:50 and peep what Tip said on this shyt though :leon:

I think Wendy Day wrote a piece on this. The reason why future probably charged so low is cause he probably knew it wasnt a good chance of it getting cleared. Just cause a rapper gives you a verse doesnt mean his label is goint to clear it so sometimes rappers wont charge an insane amount for the verse just to get the money knowing that it probably wont be cleared.

Yep they shot a video for the song and all. I think The song was called I got that paper

I suppose it depends on who you are. I doubt Wayne, Drake and Nikki are charging each other for verses.

I wonder how Khaled be gettin them verses, probably favors as well but what favor does Khaled offer nikkas?
He offers them chance to be the best

who u ghostwrite for, and whats ya creative process like?

u majored in creative writing or sum'n breh?

I went to school for linguistics but never received any formal training beyond the great music I studied. The process is different for every client, the first step is identifying what your client hopes to accomplish and then to do it as if you were writing it through them. A good understanding of character can take you a long way. Being able to bring a vision to your work is priceless
