You know what's crazy Rock is pretty much dead now. They killed it with punk rock, you don't even hear that shyt really anymore. Plus you realize the bands you listed came well before 360's, Green Day but out since the late 80's and RHCP even before them

Aside from the Nickelbacks and trash like that..

Rock went underground and indie for the most part. Even the bands that are sponsored and have t shirts in like Zumiez and Hot Topic (Ceremony, Weekend Nachos) still keep their punk roots musically and are very in tune and apart of and supportive of the culture and didnt "sell out" like Green Day

Rocks subgenres are still alive

Yeah Im sure its well and alive underground. When I said "dead" I meant in more of a mainstream sense. Tbh I can't recall the last rock song I've heard like on radio, even of the Green Day "sellout" variety....or maybe Im so out of touch with that genre that Im missing it idk. But I remember in the early to mid 2000s hearing Green Day, Nickelback, Alien Ant Farm, Korn, Creed. The last rock shyt I can recall probably is Maroon 5 lol

And you dont hear them getting raped by the industry i assume its because they write most their own music. Most dont gotta pay song writers, ghost writers and producers.

Plus a lot of bands arent out there buying expensive ass cars and jewelry flexing and have an image to up keep and go broke over trying to keep like hip hop artists. :yeshrug:

Rock music's image is less flashy.

Ehh I would say the reason why you may not hear about artists getting "raped" b/c you're not as deeply enthralled in that culture as you are hiphop. Im not saying it does or doesn't happen, Im sure it does. But there have been stories of one or more members of a band "raping" other members in the band.

But then again it's a different lifestyle. It's a part of what makes hiphop, hiphop. The reason they're able to make the money they do is because of the lifestyle they sell. I doubt rock bands are making as much money from apparel, and liquor endorsements, club "walkthroughs", etc that rappers do. Again I could be wrong. idk much about that culture. But I'd imagine a majority of the money they make is from music sales and concert performances.

True, there have been countless stories of band members feeling like they were getting raped and not a good enough cut.

And you did make a good point. Rock bands dont really get that extra money on the side through club appearances and endoresements. They do make money off merch, though

Idk how exactly it is for rappers, but i heard labels pay for all their flights and hotels.

I have a friend who plays in this hardcore band called Terror, theyve been around for a long time and are popular amongst the hardcore communinty..have toured the world, like every country. They pay for like all their own flights and hotels.

They arent rich, but they make enough money to support themselves touring the world, buying all sorts of new equipment, eating "lavish", doing fun shyt, drinking a lot and smoking tons of weed.

that travis guy with the mohawk was eating good in his hay day, probably still does.

check this out
The fellow Rolling Stones started beefing publicly in the mid-'80s when Jagger embarked on a solo career and called the Stones "tired old men." Of course they've managed to stay together another 25+ years (funny how making shytloads of money will do that) even though Keith mocked Mick onstage for having a "small cock" in 2005.

I think majors pay for some rappers stuff too but they're not really "paying" for it, it comes out of their budget, which rappers of course have to pay back. Like in iggys new breakfastclub interview the label actually got her a nice hotel that was across from the station and got her car service. Where as before she stayed much further and had no car service . As long as your economically viable artist, they'll cater to u

the label pays for rock bands stuff too, and it still comes out of the budget. record execs have been raping artists in every genre since the music industry began. there are a lot of bands or singers that don't write all their own songs and they're just as naive when it comes to signing a deal. they can still get majorly fukked on their publishing, masters, all the same stuff rappers get fukked on. if they get a huge budget they still have to recoupe in the same way a rapper does so they do'nt start making money til it's recouped then they have to split the money up usually more than the average rapper even when you count samples and all that. the thing with samples is they can come in & say they want 100% of the publishing and they might get it whereas if a band does a cover song they're less likely to get a ridiculous asking price because it's generally not seen as "stealing" where sampling has a worse connotation with a lot of older musicians or in a lot of cases, old greedy execs who stole the publishing from an artist 50 years ago.

Who cares? Rock is dead.

The pop singer Lorde has a Rock nomination for the Billboard awards in May:laff:

Only thing holding the Rock sound down is Country:manny:

Country music probably has the best group of fans around. They usually don't download their music and if they do they still go out and cop physical copies. Country musicians are pretty loyal to their fans also. They make probably the most on tours and concerts. You don't see too many country musicians these days hurting for money.
