The rest of my teeth will gain some uncanny space. Be ouchere looking like a black bugs bunny. And my slight overbite means that method is a recipe for disaster.

Yea, I had to have an appliance installed on the roof of my mouth to train my tongue to swallow correctly. That, and regular braces will do a better job of fixing the open bite I have.
