How are you able to save $500 a check?

Me personally
10% to 401K
10% to a 2nd savings account strictly for emergencies

Partly because I live in a 2 income household and I have no CC debt nor school debt (paid dem shyts off).
Also, for 2 years, I was contracting where NO taxes were taken out and I calculated that taxes would be $500 per check, so I manually saved that. Now I have a job that takes taxes and I continued the habit. I modify my spending around it and not the other way around.

My goal is to have double my age in savings (i.e. age 20, savings $40k). Not there yet. Now that I bought a home, gotta have some liquidity.

Looking to diversify soon tho.

I get paid monthly. But I got about 400 total going to 401k&ira. I try to put 500 in savings

And I also try to save all the OT I make. Usually between 500-1500 a month.

This is only my second month doing this tho
