I'd say I go shopping about twice a year for clothes and spend about 1000-2500grand on per year... But then I have gone years where I haven't spent any money on clothes other than socks, and underwear so it varies....
When it comes to nice pieces... I'll spend 220 on a nice pair of APC denim and a 500-600 on a nice apc coat every couple years, but most of my other pieces are really cheap. I like to mix it up and I have a "uniform" that I never really stray away from. I usually only wear Black t shirts on low key days. I have a lot of nice light blue button downs, a lot of white button downs, some varied short sleeve button downs designs that I cop from thrift stores or cheaper online stores, and a bunch of J Crew plain white polos. I mix it up with different colored fitted slacks, sometimes they are nice expensive APC/Brooks brothers, and sometimes they are cheaper lucky brand pants. I stay in decent boots, Vans, or chukkas etc.
I am just trying to find that balance of not overspending on clothes and "trying to hard" and still coming out with a variety of things I like to wear and feel comfortable in. Most people say they like my look because it is "clean cut"... I learned that in the fall/winter months, it is more important to enjoy your "outerwear" pieces over having a bunch of different kinds of button ups and shirts. Nice Jakcets, overcoats, cardigans etc. are more to my liking and make a plain outfit fit together nicely. At 26 I am realizing that while I like fashion, I find that I like using my money on other things like electronics, music, and media and other hobbies like kite surfing so I need to get more responsible with how I spend...
Spend money on big pieces, go cheaper on everything else...
