Executive producer is usually just a vanity title especially when they give them to the actors on the show.

Pretty much this. And they also use this as a way to get bigger royalty checks when the show hits syndication.
Everything doesn't have to be an agenda.
It's likely a title she/her people negotiated so she could get a bigger cut on the royalties from the movie. I'll tell you what though, she's as qualified as pretty much most of the other people who get executive producer labels. But I wouldn't expect OP to have that same viewpoint.
