stupidity came in all forms and continues to do so
you didn't have the interconnectedness to see human behavior constantly like the way we do now with the internet

the funny shyt is the 2002+ born babies are fine with being marginalized and simplified because what we consider “stupid” has been the norm for a few decades now. I laugh when i hear new rappers, rap like they only know 10 words but when they talk regularly they sound like high school or college grads :russ:dumb it down, conform for profit or find another way like many other artist have….you just got to real talent without the machine i think

I love the inclusivity rap has had lately but a lot of it aint for me. Specially the autistic rap lane an catering to special needs which 2 of my cousins are on the spectrum for. I'm glad they can relate to some of these artists. The Uzis, Playboi Cartis, Coi Lerays etc. Do you think this lane is here to stay or its just a reflection of the younger gen and will be done with within this decade?
None of these artists music reach my ears. I know them based on news I read here and there. I am an old head, I mostly listen to east coast rap boom bap, I am on some other vinyl heads board where people are stuck in 1998 (no joke). Mainstream rap will keep evolving, don't be surprise by gothic rap as the next wave. Technology enabled everybody to be a rapper or a producer and record anywhere. Listen to what you like, let the teenagers live, they will also be old heads in 10 years and reminisce how thing were different and lit in the past.

what's sad is if you look into most of their early material before they blew up, they were actually putting effort in their bars. smh

Yup early Thug was a Wayne clone through and through

Early Carti:

Music is cyclical. There will be an original artist that will break this mold in a few years... and then nikkas will dikkride that new sound.
Yeah tbh if I had the bread to blow. I'd try to start building a label now of rappers on that "real rap" shyt cause and take a gamble that shyt becomes back in style in 5 years which is certainly possible. Imagine if them Griselda nikkas were in their 20's and not damn near late 30's. I think they'd be bigger than what they are.
