How much money do you need in your savings to feel comfortable?

Obvious answers are like 100K+ and crazy money like that but lets be real here most of us are everyday workers who dont make a lot or make decent and have to live like normal people.

what in your opinion is a safe and good amount of money to have in your savings account in your 20's to feel comfortable?

It all depends on how you spend your money my brotha. One person could live off of $25k for the year, but the next person could blow through that in a month.

I have around $20k in my savings, but that's from selling a motorcycle and secondary car in the last 2 years. I've become a tight wad over the last 2 years, don't really spend much money so I'm comfortable.

Honeslty if u have at least 5k in your savings you should be cool for a few months, in the unfortunate case of u losin yor job, car breakin down, or unforseen expense. Everybody should invest in some stocks/bonds or mutual funds/ cd's or other high interest savings accounts. Because I if u are really on hard times, u can cash them joints out! You will be charged a penalty if u withdraw your funds early from a cd from maturity. Fyi

i feel uncomfortable when my saving account drops below 3500. i try to keep between 1000-2000 in my checking account. i also always have about 1000 cash at the crib just in case.
