I'm 27. My goal is to stay over 100k.

Good looks on that, breh. I hope to be done with law school in the next 4/5 years and hopefully the market is better for lawyers when I graduate. Hopefully I'm making enough bread where I have atleast 10K in my savings within a few years of graduating

ive heard a good rule of thumb (at the minimum of course) is 3 months of all expenses.

so if your rent is 1000, and cost of livings is like 500, and bills combined is like another 500, at least like 6 gz for that situation.

say what? if ur rent is 1000, ur cost of living is like 500? nah man.

if ur rent is 1000, add another 400 on that for utilities/cable/electric.

so to feel comfortable in the event of a job loss, u need this:

1000 + 400 = 1400 = 1400 * 12 = 10800

how much debt do u have?

Zero. I went to a CUNY school in NYC, so I don't have student loans.I don't have a car, I'm single, and I still live with my folks. My credit is immaculate and I save 90 percent of my weekly income. :steviej: In other words I'm stacking up my paper.

A year's worth of living expenses would make me comfy. Whatever that number may be for you. So if your laid off or fired, your not panicking like crazy and you can think before your next move.
