How much should it cost to replace back brakes?

Yeah. 550 high if you got a Honda civic.
But you know, we gotta take the Mercedes and BMW's to the dealer. Not Joe's brakes either.
Real spit, dealerships are stepping up the game. They give free food and drinks, coffee, water other beverages and shyt while you wait. Usually have private areas so you can wait in peace or private.

I got charged about that amount, and nearly that amount again for the front brakes. I'll be doing it myself for now on. I had no idea how simple it was, although it seems a little challenging if you never done them before. But I didn't have time to watch all those youtube videos, because I needed the brake job fast. After I spent nearly $1000 on a front and back brake job, I've done nothing but watch youtube videos since. The key is to watch as many different videos as you can. Some videos make what seemed too difficult on other videos, much more easier to understand. The best videos are the ones when they're working on a car where the brake area is clean, and the car almost looks brand new. These cars don't have all that dirty grease build up, making it harder to see what's what, like it is under most cars that's been driven a minute, and have all that dirty black grease build up. After watching a car that's clean in the brake area, you'll be better able to recognized the parts and bolts you need to loosen.
What stopped me from doing the work myself was the electronic back brakes. That's probably why they charge more for the back brakes. After watching all those videos, it's really simple. Basically, all brake jobs are the same...I also watched a video illustrating that point. Now I feel like kicking myself for not doing my brakes on my older cars for all those years, and the money I could have saved. Btw, this includes the rotors too. That's another reason I decided to let the mechanic do my brakes last month. I didn't want to deal with messing with those rotors. It ain't like it was with those cars when I was a teen, or in my early 20's, when slipping on the rotors was like changing a tire. I was probably doing all that wrong too back in the day, as well as my brakes. I'm lucky nothing happened to me. But if you don't feel comfortable even changing a tire, then it's probably better that you do let a mechanic do the work.
After finding out the complete brake job isn't as difficult as I thought, I almost want to change my brakes and rotors right now just for practice, even though I just spent all that money having them done. I know one thing, I'll be ready next time, and I won't be dealing with no rude a** mechanic. But what ever you do, practice caution.

Tell them that (xyz shop) down the street quoted you 280 for it, say you’d rather do it with them, but if xyz is charging that much less then you know something is up. Ask em if they can bring it down to 300. If they say no then move on
