One of my closest friends died in high school when I was a senior, I had been halfway in love with his on/off longtime girlfriend since 9th grade, but I put that shyt aside, I was still into her for years after, but never said anything about it. I feel like he wouldn't mind, because I always liked her anyway, and it wasn't like I wanted a one night stand. I used to party and drink and shyt with her, after he died, like the two of us drunk at 4:00 AM holding hands, but I never crossed that line.
She moved away and I still see her every few years or so, not easy seeing her sometimes, but I've more or less moved on, but it brings up all those old feelings every time I see her. She always asks me if I found anyone yet, shyt is sad. I feel like if my intentions are good I have clear conscience, it bothered me more when I was young, esp I was guilty over the death anyway.
