Imagine being able to jack into the Matrix as anyone and be able to do anything. Once this technology is created it will subsume all other forms of entertainment we have ever created. Why watch a basketball game on TV, when you can actually become Michael Jordan in NBA 2k40 and recreate the 98 finals? Why watch a superhero movie like the Avengers at a theater, when you can become Iron Man in movie you play out? Why go out to clubs to try and bag bytches to fukk, when you can have any experience you can imagine with any woman you can imagine without exerting any effort? I can see a future of everyone spending most of their time in virtual worlds living as different people. Why live in the real world when you can live in a world where you can be God?

And this isn't some tech that is hundreds of years away. The most conservative estimates put it at around 2030-2040. How do you think full immersion virtual reality will change the world?

I personally can't wait for NBA 2k40. We'll actually be able to settle who is better between MJ and Kobe by having them play against each other in their primes.

if you are under 30 then it should be no more expensive than a PS4 by the 2040

remember how expensive cell phones used to be in the 90s when they were not that good......now we have phones that are much better and yet they are more affordable

technology has this tendency to be expensive when it is at its infancy and not working that well......however by the time it gets real good......it becomes very cheap and affordable......full immersion VR should be possible by 2030......however it probably won't be accesible to the mainstream public until the 2040s and by then it will be much better than it was when it was first possible

your confusing information technologies which advance in predictable exponential to stuff that ain't information technology

full immersion VR is simply about computer technology progressing......compare the graphics from pong to the new Metal Gear Solid game thats coming out on PS4........you see how far we've come.......just extrapolate that out and 2040 is actually a very conservative estimate

most technology experts say the building blocks should be available by 2025.....that is when nanotechnology is supposed to pop off......and about when video graphics should be at photorealism.......after that its about putting it together

I think 2030 is more likely but I said 2040 cause its the more conservative estimate.
