Im extremely thankful that my girl is able to stay home with our kid for now. My mom is about to retire and her mom is already retired, so my girl will be able to go back to work if she wants to. We both worry about all the daycare drama that comes up in the news weekly. We just don’t trust it. Can’t wait for our daughter to start school one day though. She seems pretty social, and loves hanging out with other babies.
How much yall pay for child care and is this a normal offering?

Yeah I was paying almost 1600 a month per kid to go to child care and it was basically a day care where they sit around play and sleep.
I took them out of that and put them in a private school for roughly the same amount that had an early education center that actually taught them things. My son knew basic sign language before he learned to talk. To this day I have no idea how they taught him that…
He wasnt even 1 and could tell me when he was hungry, tired, needed to be changed etc.
Best decision I ever made for them. They went into PK-3 pretty much knowing their alphabet, shapes/colors, numbers and basic writing. They were wayyy ahead.

Congrats! I pay just under $1000 and I supply his diapers, lunch and everything-they do offer breakfast and snack so if he wants it he eats that too. My baby loves his teachers and they love him, I’m not switching plus the other centers are about twice that. He’s learning sign language and does a lot of activities, they post pics and updates all day

I pay $2100 a month in Massachusetts for 5 days a week. No lunch included and they have the gall to ask for $3 for pizza every Thursday. Can’t wait to enroll in pre k but the district mandates you have to be 3 by the start of the year and my daughter was born in November so stuck paying for an extra year because my kid was born 2 months late 
Lol i know what your saying but my wife makes significant money. If she was making under 50-60k we would consider it but she is over the 6 figure mark so her staying home isn't an option.
Was looking into getting a Au pair but it doesn't make finical sense unless I have 3 kids at least. If I lived where someone on here saying they paid 2k a kid for daycare then a Au pair makes sense but the price I'm getting is hard to beat for any Au pair service. That and the wife said the Au pair had to be ugly as she doesn't want a passport chick in our house

I pay about $200 a week in Atlanta. We waited until she made it to two though. We would have kept her home but babies need socialization.
Here in Japan, school/daycare is cheap as hell. I could have both of may babies in the same school for under $900
They will be going to different schools though so it will be a bit more. We still winning though. The base wants 2K per child.

$330/week sounds like a good deal, especially with diapers, wipes, and formula included. Just one thing to check does that cover full-day care (like 9–5)? Some places advertise a weekly rate but only watch kids for 2-4 hours a day, so make sure the schedule matches what you need.
For what it’s worth, we had a bad daycare experience before, so we ended up going with a live-in au pair. It’s our second year with her now. We pay $1,200/month cash, and she helps 3-4 hours a day park trips, meals, activities and our baby is happy and developing great. I also work from home, so it worked out perfectly to be around them.
Every family is different, but the most important thing is feeling comfortable with whoever is caring for your baby.
The agency fee for a au pair are like 8-10k before even paying the au pair. I dont see how its worth it unless i had multiple kids. Could you touch on the company u used?
FYI I went with another daycare that opened up. Built from the ground up everything new. Price is $250 a week for the first 6 months then $300 afterwards. We have to supply everything but it worked out because we are only feeding our son organic Kendamil formula and use those luxury diapers Milli Moon. So the other daycare that included all that doesnt use our brands and honestly that $80 a week we save with this daycare pays for two cans of formula.
