How nikkas let Eminem get away with dissing Will Smith?

Jeff said the 'beef' came about because Will had some comments about his version of "just the two of us" behind the scenes when it came out. He also dissed gangsta rap as a whole at the MTV awards. Hence "Will Smith don't gotta cuss in his raps to sell records".
Why is Will Smith above reproach again? Especially on some MC shyt? Because he's black?
He "got away with it" because Eminem aside Will was seen as a cornball actor who rapped for kids. Dre, a man who built his empire off curse raps was supposed to stop Eminem from defending him?
He dissed him on The Real Slim Shady.

Apparently Will told Eminem early in his career that he was either going to be the biggest flop or the biggest success Hip Hop has ever seen and Em took it personally.
Also Dre had ill feelings towards Will because Jada Pinkett was supposed to Direct the California Love video and Will shut it down.
At the end of the day Will Smith is a legend in both rap and movies and Em is an overrated drug addict who only sells the amount of records he does because he’s the great white hope.

Be objective...on some rap shyt and tell me Em didn't merk that. And don't sit and talk shyt about Will "addressing" somebody on a record and then try and shield him from getting addressed back. Especially seeing how Will was bragging about everything besides skill in regards to what makes a dope MC.
Will was never a 'sacred' cow in Hip Hop, no matter how much you hate Eminem. The notion that Hip Hop were going to rush to his defense off GP is some goofy, unrealistic shyt.

On some rap shyt Em can write better than Will, but that's all he can really say at this point. Just like Will couldn't say he writes better rhymes, Eminem can't really say he makes better songs or has a better catalog at this point. I'm pretty sure he's ashamed of half his albums by now.
And the death of any VS is when we have to resort to "well, technically..." - especially with Em, who kind of became the chosen one for a while by being a battlerapper who could also make good albums.

You ended your statement with "well technically" yet trying to support Will with technicalities of "at this point ect".
Bottom line is, according to his own man, Will 'started' an issue with Eminem behind the scenes and subliminal disses ensued. I don't think anybody with a straight face, even if they hate Em's guts can say that it worked out in Will's favor, especially with those two records.
I love Will, as I've gotten older and had children I have a new found appreciation for kid friendly rap and shyt that I was a bit too advanced for. But he was never rap music's sacred cow. And 'technicalities' aside he can't fukk with Em on the mic.
Because at time em's nutts was being forced down everyones throat along with this narrative that "shady is a crazy white boy who might eat your family so dont fukk with him" yo know crazy bs like that. So ppl really wasnt trying to go at dude. The funny thing is everyone whoever clapped at em held their own if not just straight shytted on cat but because Em was super huge and the Drake of his era he was untouchable and whem touched all his c00n friends would come to the resucue.
