How often do y'all take off work for being 'sick'

Whenever I want.

That's part of my benefits package.

I use them all before and of year because they don't carry over.

I work from home a lot now so barely any reason to WFH anymore.

I was doing it a lot since we had a kid. Someday I’d rather help my family around the house. But I slowed down on that shyt. If I didn’t have sick leave, I would used up my annual leave. Ate that shyt up.

when I was working I’d easily take off 10-15 days a year...I’d aim for fri. or mon. to get a nice little 3 day weekend...just days for me to recharge...ppl on my job done had heart attacks...strokes on the job itself and they’d get fake love but their ass was expected to be right back @ work as soon as possible...muthafukkas will work you into an early grave if you let them...the only thing I had to make sure of was to not take too many days off in a row cuz that would require a doctor’s note or some shyt...they would frown upon me taking as many days off as I did but they couldn’t do shyt else cuz I was a damn good teacher and did everything by the book...I probably wouldn’t have been able to pull that off in a corporate/private sector setting...cuz in that environment they have more leeway for letting you go over some make-believe bullshyt

I haven't called-out for about 2 years and I mostly work from home.

I reserve that type of thing for REAL emergencies and I don't consider a headache/stomachache an emergency.

We get holidays off and I actually like working so I don't get beat-down/overworked.

Cashing-in the vacation/personal days at the end of the year = ​

Case in point it was this mf I worked with who’d take off “sick” at least 2-3x a month. He had seniority so no one said nothing to him.

He fractured his ankle off the job and he only had a week of sick days.

We have this thing where you can donate your sick days for people who run out of there so he was calling around like . Everybody was like

How you at a place for 24 years and you only have one week of sick time accrued . It’s mfs who been there 10 with months stacked up

Rarely now, since I've been home-based the past three years. Before, when I would have to go into an office, sometimes I'd wake up, and the thought of having to get dressed, deal with traffic and all that just had a niigga ready to call in sick from jump. Now that I telecommute, I don't get that urge unless I'm absolutely sick.
