And also, how long do you take out each time you sit to make beats?

Lately, with me there's no real regular schedule to it, it comes in bursts, where I'll do 10 in 13 days, then not touch my stuff for 6 weeks. Sometimes I end up feeling guilty about it, but there are times when I really feel no motivation to make beats :to:

I play around on logic everyday, laying down ideas and shyt but usually takes me 1-2 months before I'm 100% happy with something

I'm too critical of my own work sometimes, which is a bad way to be

sometimes the best songs are the ones you make in a few hours and mix/master right there on the spot,

the more you listen to your beats over and over again, the more you will start comparing it to others and that ain't good

You absolutely only have to do it when you feel it. I think a lotta people think that working every day making 5 beats is the ideal way to be a great beatmaker or producer. but thats not exactly true. I bet a lot of industry dudes make a lot less than they say they do. the point is, you have to be working enough that you can hone your skills and perfect them, while at the same time staying artistically motivated. You don't ever want to find yourself making music just for the sake of making music. Music is a serious artform and it takes patience and emotion. 9 times out of 10, if you sit at your desk finding yourself incredibly motivated to make a beat, you'll make a much better beat off of that inspiration as opposed to making a beat because you feel like you should be. making beats is fun, not a chore.

Almost everyday...Sometimes I spend the whole day making beats...But I never finish a beat...I just lay down the basic song structure, mix a little bit and then move on...

Sex, making beats and working out are the only 3 things I enjoy outside work...

What I do, is usually will dig for a sample a day at least. But i never make "full complete beats" I make a nice loop/16 and a hook. If I think its worth it, Ill go farther. But I don't really think Im at that level yet, so I just keep making loops to learn and master. Some days Ill make 3-4 loops in a matter of 2-3 hours.

Good question! i guess 4 me im like myrical lyfe... i would make small loops not full beats! lol i use 2 do that for the longest. As 4 now i do 1 a day! i dont care how it sounds i do the best i can and push my self to the limit. Sometimes they hit sometimes not.. doesnt matter tho..Besides in the end you only get better and better with each beat!
