Depends.
Historically, I save up all vacation/PTO time and never use it with the idea of it all being paid out when I leave the job. It basically funds the moving process if done right.
I've learned that practice does nothing for myself and my mental/personal well-being (granted, I've never had a reason to call out or go on vacation). So I'm going to slightly edit it. I'm going to find out the max payout for unused vacation days and all that and move accordingly, i.e. if I saved up 30 vacation days but company policy says they only pay out a max of 24, I'm definitely using those extra six days.
