All the time. Absolutely hated them at first. Then my sons broke 2 of my PCs and then the power supply's died in the other 2. Quickly learned how to use them...and ended up with 4 in the house :pachaha:

Bought the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 8.4", doing a car audio project with it, putting it in the dash where the radio cavity is.

Did this with my Nexus 7 in my previous car. There were some apps I had to get and I needed to root it to get it working properly I a few fronts, but it worked pretty well.

On the topic, I hardly ever use my tablet outside of travel. For light browsing, my phone is better, for anything more, my laptop is better. Typing is easier on both my phone and laptop as well.

Purchased USB Audio Pro Player, a USB to-go cable, and an outboard USB DAC, audio is very clean now. Just need to drop the TomTom NAV software on the microSD card.

I forgot many of the finer details, but it was a lot of little shyt I had to deal with. For instance, since I had my head unit in the glove compartment, I wanted an quick and easy on-screen way to control the volume, so I had to find a volume controller that always stayed on the screen.

For maps, I downloaded some free offline map service (TeleNav, I think) but I never used it, I always just used my phone's hotspot and Google Maps when I needed Nav.

There was a bunch of other stuff convenience things, that I ended up using Tasker to handle

Did you have to root at all?

I think I will unless I can find a way to get the Tab to charge and send music through the USB to-go cable. I have a Sony system that is the head unit, digital processor, and a add-on usb/audio device (the DAC is from the usb input), basically you select USB on the head unit and that is the tablet. I keep the audio from the USB Audio app set the same as a cd would be from the head unit.
