Have you seen some of the shyt that goes on in other forums? Just because you find it rediculous, others feel the same way about other shyt people argue about.

The shyt I'm saying is exactly why this sub-forum has been left to rot. It's also why The Film Room was separated from it. The people that own the site probably have no problem telling you that themselves.

You can disagree but I'm telling you that's the reality of the situation. This is the only sub-forum I've seen where a wack poster will get banned, and people will start complaining because "it's boring now". People want drama and nonsense first, video games a very distant second, then will sit there and wonder why the board is garbage.

On topic of the OP The reason people battle over game consoles is because they seek to validate their preference and we as humans are competitive. It's no different then Mcdonalds vs Burger king, Android vs iOS, East vs West, PC vs Mac, Red vs Blue, people want to validate their purchase, time and choice/preference , what better way then with popularity.

Look at it this way "My is better then your because it's has more users, which means more attention, which means more support, which means more relevance, which means more popularity, which means more users".

Game consoles are an investment and people are just making sure their choice was the right 1, so their console can have all of the above perks, hence the competitive internet "battles"


Remember the Dreamcasthow about the Vita Money well spent Them dude's be like "the Dreamcast/Vita/N-Gage was ahead of it's time" no they weren't but nobody wants that to happen to there chosen console

I own a decent PC, Wii u and PS4. And I rarely game. Sometimes I have regrets, sometimes I wanna give my shyt away to some family member who will put good use to it.

So your saying dial up quake was better then Halo? Socom? Online MMO's? Watching DVDs? Listening to music? The PS2 was the future hence it's popularity, it rendered the Dreamcast obsolete before it came out i didn't realise dial up was the future. The Dreamcast was just beta GameCube limited to only just playing games. Sony was right with the Home Media console direction, just look at the consoles today in the future

I see Sega getting streaming right then flopping just like the Wii U due to lack of features people care about. Game consoles don't sell no more now it's all about Media consoles. Sony saw that coming, Microsoft adapted, Nintendo got lucky.
