How do you guys deal with creationists?

It blows my mind when I encounter seemingly cogent, educated people tell me they really believe the earth is 6000 years old.

I tend not to interact with those types...and those that I have no choice on interacting with (family) I make sure to steer the convo away from religion at all times.

i don't meet these types unfortunately, if i were to i would say the bible is in large part an allegory that can be used to open people's hearts, not for them to make false idols (concepts)

Even if I did, I'm more concerned about people who have physically dangerous religious beliefs.

We don't know how old the earth is.
Geological science is soft.
It isn't verifiable, testable, or observable.

We can make some pretty nice hypotheses.

Ultimately we end up relying on abductive logic where induction should be, this what makes these theories 'weak.'
