Probably second grade. I went to Catholic School even though my parents are pretty much agnostic but there were too many things that didn't add up. I never understood why you'd have to talk to a priest for confession. If you can pray/talk to God why do you need a middle man? And how is it that if you do something bad and confess saying 10 Hail Mary's and 10 Our Fathers wipes the slate? Why not 15? Why did the Bible say to not have idols but there's idols everywhere in the classrooms and church? Why were there pictures of white Jesus but when we asked what Jesus really looked like "color doesn't matter?"

All that shyt was arbitrary and didn't stand up to logic. Feel like religion was just men imposing their rules as a form of control.

Childhood..by 9th grade the jig was up on religion and I stopped going to church.

He said religion not God... Religion makes people fearful of questioning religion. It wants obedience.
Hence terms like "God fearing" and stories of damnation used to keep people in line. I don't think religion and God is the same thing
I was just trying to get my 2 cents out. But in the case of religion, I don't know when it was, but I'm not on that. Just give me the Word

To question something is to say you have information contrary. I don't have the arrogance to question another person about their beliefs as the knowledge any person or organization possess is speck of sand on the beach in comparison to the whole of human history. Whether you believe in creationism or evolution it is all majority speculation with hope that enough people will believe you to prop up your theory. Logic is subject and situational to humans, cats will claim logic and then dismiss it at their own wins and convenience........life is the golden rule....... which is why there will never be peace......... no one will look out for there fellow human........

I used to be obsessed with watching animal planet, Steve Irwin and everything nature related growing up. Watched a lot of nature documentaries and the Noah's ark story made zero sense. I would try to ask questions but my family weren't having it :francis:

Probably before this but I started to seriously question it at 11. In a Christian camp called "Hoop Heaven" of all places.:russ: I think it was the first time I was involved with anything religious and my friends or family wasn't involved.

Started questioning early wondering how we worshipped a God that ordained murder, rape, and slavery…, and why would God create a evil being such as the devil to directly oppose him…but rolled with it like most AA do since we brought up that way and told we go to hell otherwise. Fear.. as an adult was all into reading the Bible and church. Even started following the Hebrew Israelite dumb shyt for a while lol. Started studying the inconsistencies of the Bible the origins of Christianity and it’s historical inaccuracy and the origins of civilization and African spirituality and Egyptian civilization out of ginuine interest in becoming a better Christian… and realized how dumb I was as an adult to really be believing a man was living in a fish and people were turned to stone and people walked through the sea. Yet I was calling people dumb or lost for not believing in it all. :dead:

In Da 15th
19/20 at the end of my 2nd year in Uni & it coincided with when I started studying black history.

It’s a video of John Henrik Clarke on YouTube & it somewhat changed both my life & overall outlook. Reading the Egyptian Book of the Dead & Zoroastrianism sealed it for me. It dawned on me that these Abrahamic are just make-believe scams - with different parts stolen from older beliefs & created for control.

Regardless, I believe in a supreme being but all the other nonsense ain’t for me.

Started questioning as a child. I want to believe but my I've been cemented for years now.

Full disclosure: I want to see glimpses from time to time, but the original mindset eventually returns.:wow:
