When I was laid off and experienced a rather lengthy unemployment period.....

Samething happened too me.
Durning that periods Got my GED, almost done with college , and got my CDL.

I can only describe it as watching the world lose color or feeling the world stop spinning. I was fully conscious and aware but I felt detached from everything.

Things became simple after that.

I can look at the ground beneath me and jump, or I can walk the ledge. There's no turning back though, the window is closed. I'm either going to die or I'm going to live. It's that simple.

Everything is dangerous now. One wrong move and I could fall off. I could die. I gotta watch my feet and be aware of my surroundings.

Christmas of 1998, when I was 11.

My parents lost 3 siblings on Christmas day (dad lost 2, mom lost 1).
We (my siblings) actually spent Christmas day and the next day at a friends home down the street because my parents didn't to ruin our Christmas with their sadness.

I remember sneaking back in and seeing my mom and dad laying on the floor next to each other, crying... that was the first and last time I've ever seen my mom cry.
