Uncertain grounds
probably the first time (or at least within the first year) of going to services. i was like alright:

1. 1% of the people here, if any, actually know what the fukk is being said in hebrew rather than just memorizing it and chanting it week after week (some of it is still randomly engrained :beli: and i havent been for 12 years now)

2. none had any legitimate answers for reasonable questions and essentially consistently regurgitated the "what" instead of the "how"

3. very little of the obvious contradictions or "plot-holes" were ever addressed whatsoever

4. i asked my pops why are you making me go through with all this when it is clearly unprovable, a vast majority of it unlikely or outright false, you dont go anymore or care whatsoever, they never address the purpose of any of it (afterlife or anything) and that i dont really believe any of this nonsense makes me a better or worse person.. and he said "every other male in your family tree did it, so just get it over with" :upsetfavre:

i refused to get bar mitzvahed and continuously skipped "Study-sessions" of my torah portion..finally compromised but never bought into any of the celebrations after and told all of my friends to not show up at the actual service cuz i didnt believe it and it was stupid. told them just to come grub after at the reception. i didnt even go on the chair and shyt..just moped at the bar with my older brother

I never questioned anything because I was never taught anything. We occasionally went to church but my parents never said a word about the service. The preachers were incoherent shouters.

When I was 10 I realized that there were other religions. That told me that they were all bogus.

Never needed to question anything because I never believed any of it. :blessed: One of the only memories I have pertaining to religion in childhood was when our primary school had religous education classes :dahell: when I was 5 (I have no idea why this is allowed in a public school). I can't remember if I bought any of it at that point but I know that at 9 or 10 I was placing "God" in the same category as Santa claus and the Easter bunny :pachaha:

@Liu Kang I remember what you said last time, I only bumped this one because it's an interesting and still relevant thread :whoa:

I did the whole catholic thing: Baptism, first communion, confirmation... My mom used to drag us to Church (even my dad who used to fall asleep during services)
But she was like "do your thing" (and stopped banging on my bedroom door on Sunday mornings) when I turned 13-14:manny:

When you start asking questions they don't have answers for, they tell you to stop asking and just obey.
Literally, like stfu and worship this book

8...Curiosity about life, the universe and religion began to grow.

I'd say I became agnostic at 15 or 16.

I was born into an atheist household so I was being forced to think about this stuff (as well as a child can) in early elementary.
