I've been saying forever that police don't investigate murders that involve Black victims.
People don't think that's possible.
Murders in the hood rarely get solved.
IMO, the lack of consequences for murders of Black victims is a large part of the reason why murders in the inner city are rampant.
If you ask a police officer why these crimes aren't being solved, their default answer is that no one will cooperate with police.
They use the "Stop Snitching" myth to revert blame to the community.
That's bullshyt because:
A) People snitch. All the time. and
B) These are not crimes committed by criminal masterminds. Most of the times these crimes are sloppy and there is evidence to be collected.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I highly doubt it.

Idk…I think both can be true. Sometimes the police don’t solve crimes and sometimes folks don’t say anything. I know killers in my own family who are walking around free… everyone knows what they’ve done but no one says anything. Neighbors been killed everyone knows the killers…but no one says anything. I will say these ppl were involved in the street life

In 2021, there were 800 homicides counted. The clearance rate by prosecution was 21.7% in predominately Black neighborhoods, yet 45.6% in predominantly White neighborhoods. The study also found that since 2001, the rate of unsolved homicides for Black women is at 35% compared to 23% for White women.

It's rare that someone is going to walk into a police station without provocation and rat out a family member or friend.
But did the police do any actual detective work in those cases you're talking about?

Idk how deep the police went but these murders were on the news. hell my cousin was killed this year. Ppl know the killers.

Just like folks who have molesters in their families…but they still come around

IT'S LITERALLY LACK OF COOPERATION. WHAT DID COPS DO BEFORE ALL THESE ADVANCEMENTS IN FORENSICS? CANVAS THE NEIGHBORHOODS. SOMEBODY SEEING SOMETHING GETS THE BALL ROLLING. SOMETHING AS SMALL AS THE MAKE/MODEL/COLOR ON A CAR NARROWS DOWN SUSPECTS INSTANTLY.

LACK OF SURVEILLANCE IN THE HOOD IS ALSO A PROBLEM. IF YOU DON'T HIT THE MAIN STREETS YOU WON'T SEE MANY CAMS.

EVERY HOUSE IN THE BURBS HAS A RING CAMERA. I DO AMAZON FLEX. I SEE THE DIFFERENCE IN SURVEILLANCE IN RESIDENTIAL AREAS.

AS EASY AS IT IS TO BLAME COPS, SOME OF IT AIN'T THEIR FAULT.
