I don’t know the numbers but everything I learned about gangs I learned while I was in the military.

In the 80s and 90s judges used to push for certain juveniles in Cali to join the military instead of ending their lives before it started.

No exaggeration, at least 80% of the young black people I knew from Chicago and LA back then were active gang members.

The Truth
During the early stages of iraq and Afghanistan it was more prevalent as they were letting in everybody.

Nowadays only people who still be in gang fukkery are idiot junior enlisted who will.be kicked out their first 3 years anyway
This

And back in the days they just pushed juveniles into the military service... they didn’t care about you being on the frontlines and it was rougher back then.

There was a surge after 9/11 but now they got stress cards, “patriotic” white boys, and mostly people who want free college education. If there is any real “gang” activity, it’s from junior enlisted or like Dray said above, the chiefs mess (but that’s basically that Navy privilege/segregation bullshyt they’re known for).

People in the military are heavy in the gun/drug trade game

:russ:.............only drugs we used were cognac, beer, and tobacco. Only weapons we dealt with were for qualification each year 'cause it was damned-near impossible to have a personal weapon. If you did, that shyt got locked in the Armory and you had to sign it out and return it within a couple hours.

Where It’s Not Safe
Theres just about every criminal element in the military like in the real world

Pimps (knew an E6 who had a stable of hoes who’d let his junior soldiers get discounts on....eventually got snitched on by a white hoe)
Prostitutes (even on deployment.....)
Robbers/Jackboys/Bank Robbers
Drug Dealers
Gang Members
Rapists
Scammers
White nationalists/skinheads

Even knew female soldiers who were even strippers on weekends

Prostitution is common in every branch except the Air Force because they're full of square ass nikkas(I actually don't know, but they get treated like adults, so fukk 'em:pacspit: ).

am I the only one confused by where this post went? :patrice:

*edit*

ok I get your point now when I read the last line again

I have a janky computer and even jankier internet. My point is it's common for someone to be affiliated with a gang, The chances that the only "Blood" in a platoon of 35 people in Nebraska being "active" while working 12 hour days for weeks straight is slight. A crip might "c-walk" in the barracks but probably is not robbing or recruiting other cats.

In the army brawl thread I talked about being at a party where I saw strippers ID cards.

I knew some privates that used to strip and ran into a few who went back to it after their short stints in the military.

But having said that The chances of people committing criminal acts on a regular basis is low. In the military you have to worry about CID and the civilian PD. Someone's gonna rat you out eventually. There was a white guy who had a "drug ring" I don't know how long he was active but I do know he went AWOL and was caught it Charlotte and brought back to the stockade at Bragg. I saw that movie Buffalo Soldiers (it was about a white scammer in europe) and if you had extreme weak leadership it's technically possible to scam especially in supply but the chances of people snitching are high.

No one wants to go to Levanworth.

(I'm only speaking from the Airforce side)The thing is right after 911 happened, they relaxed the requirements to come in. Hence why alot of gang members joined... They took people with tattoos, minor records, etc. Now they even check your credit score to be considered. A few years back, they did a huge audit where they released people who had article 15s/LORs and in special cases they dug even deeper. If everyone was getting their education and you were the only in your section who wasnt, then your name went up to be considered to be released.

This is 100 percent true, i once got a dreamed up LOR based on a fukking lie in the armory that helped facilitate being kicked out (honorable thank god).
