How reactional was the “NFL boycott”? Are we just all talk and no action?

Haven't watched since I signed the petition. League was already pissing me off with how black QBs were getting treated in all aspects of their careers to begin with, this was pretty much the straw that broke the camel's back for me.

I always was and still am conflicted. I look at it like, why am I doing something the players refuse to do themselves? I don't fight for people, I fight with them.

I also looked at it as, even though they don't get a penny from me, even in ad revenue. If I were to give them that, all I would be doing is taking away from the players I claim to support.

Then I had to ask if Kaep still watches his favorite sport. He doesn't support the league but this is still his favorite sport. Is it possible he still tunes in? Who came up with the idea to boycott in the first place and what was the end game? Just to get Kaep back in the league or to hurt NFL revenues?

All in all, specifically for me, it would be nothing but an empty gesture. I don't have a Nielsen box in my home, I stream games and don't buy merchandise. So the only person I'm hurting or sticking it to, would be myself.

Seems like too many people just signed up because it was the wave at the time. Their hearts weren't in it. Respect to those who stuck to their guns and will continue to do so.

I never stopped watching. But I’m a huge football fan and played the sport for years. I I’m not letting politics get in the way of my entertainment. Plus I think most of the loudest “boycotters” didn’t watch the sport much anyway. I know no one who boycotted irl

The thing that’s killing me is how people are boycotting but end up knowing more about what’s going on in the nfl then people who aren’t boycotting. I’m going through this now. I got friends who are so called boycotting but they always are able to bring up some story of the week that I know nothing about.
That’s not a real boycott. You shouldn’t know shyt about what’s going on in The nfl if you’re really boycotting which is kinda hard in the social media era. I don’t have cable so I don’t get to watch sports center or none of that mess unless I want to search for some online links or some shyt. The biggest impact of an nfl boycott would be players refusing to play.. but the league see these rookies crying to get a shot and vets begging to get paid more so they aren’t worried.

no change comes without real sacrifice... a united front and clear goal.

the protest failed due to fragmented support and a lack of conviction in most people that participated. their sports are more important than their dignity so they can't sacrifice watching. you can neg away if you catch feelings but that's the truth.

same goes with the players. If the majority of the Black players had been kneeling they would have never been able to stop it. With no unity there is no strength so the NFL doesn't bend and they can single out Kap. With major support within the league this doesn't happen... And brehs always say "but they need to make money and feed their families" Listen man there's no way they could fire the whole league is majority of the Black players were on code.

On the flip side I know plenty of people that bushed football irl and these are hardcore fans.
