someone explain this to me. I get Darnold has prototypical size, but how is he better than Jackson wh won the heisman last year, and Mayfield who look like hell win this year. fukk all the measurables and potential, Mayfield and Jackson showing they better passers and can win. Seems every year an obvious talent drops to round 2 or 3 because of some stupid red flag, then dude balls out just like he did in college. shouldnt actual results and experience be the deciding factor in drafting someone?

remember when christian Ponder was a top 10 pick :scust:

:mjpls: He got the complexion

But honestly, from what i gather the draft is such a gamble, they go by up side, how you fit the mold, and then production

Honestly some of these dudes benefit from the situation they are placed in vs talent, wentz went into a good situation, Keizer didn’t, look at Goff under Fischer vs the new guy, it’s so many factors in this i don’t always trip, but i hope this gets jackson on a great team imagine him in Jacksonville or Denver, vs him having to go to either of the ny teams

Cause Mayfield and Jackson operate out of the shotgun 99% of the time? :yeshrug:

Which usually doesn’t translate well into the NFL

Draft is a crap shoot. Would have never guessed Cousins would be better than RG3 :yeshrug:

Darnold right now is living off hype from last year when he was much better. He needs another year.

ah and Darnold workin in pro formations? but his numbers suck, I dont buy that 6'4 nonsense, Rodgers and Brees both under 6'2 and both top 5 QBs.

USC used to run the pro set 100% but with changing of the game, they have implemented some of the spread. They still use the west coast/pro more than BIG 12 and ACC schools.

Mayfield the best QB in the country to me though.
NFL coaches could create sets and plays to play to the strengths of Jackson and Mayfield but they lack creativity and dont want to think outside the box.
When NFL coaches play to the strengths of their duel threat QBs, we have what Cam did 2 years ago, but these dumb ass coaches are stuck in their ways.
