nikkas really this dumb :mjlol:

You have a 100 dollars in your pocket and 70 dollars of merchandise you’re going to sell.

You lose the hundred initially because it falls out of your pocket. You sell the $70 merchandise to someone else.

The woman stealing it is irrelevant, the money you gave in change is irrelevant, y’all focusing on the wrong thing. You lost a 100 bucks at the end of the day :manny:

Wow, spent way too long on this.

Here's the breakdown. When you own a business, you try to make a profit. So the notion that you're going to sell 70$ worth of goods for 70$ simply doesn't exist. Because now you are not making any money. This is why the riddle works in the first place. When a business owner sells anything, in that sale there is a profit assumed.

So when someone steals money from you, and then uses that money to purchase either a good or service that you sell, not only do you lose the value of the goods, you lose the assumed profit that you should have made. Now, the riddle doesn't say anything about profit. So the correct answer for this question is C. But in reality, C would never be a realistic answer.

Here's an example. You want to propose to your GF but you're broke. The night before you hack a diamond store's bank account and steal 10k. The next day you go to the store and you buy a diamond ring for 10k. Now, the store expects a 5k profit on the sale of the ring. When they look at their bank account, they see that it hasn't changed. Yet they gave away a 10k ring and don't have the expected 5k in profit.

You should’ve stopped after the first sentence and just said C :mjtf:

y’all overthinking this to extreme levels. Look at your example and think about what you just said. The ring the sold you, they made the profit on. The 10k they lost is lost REGARDLESS of it being stolen. It could be lost, destroyed or anything else. They lost the 10k and nothing else is relevant after that...

Just answer what’s in front of you, y’all over thinking this to extreme levels :what:
