Owning a blazer is weird as hell :dahell:

It’s basically a suit jacket that you’re supposed to wear with casual clothing

This shyt looks tacky and out of place :what:

Fukk I look like being the only mfer in the venue wearing a suit jacket with some jeans like I’m Stefan Urkel or some shyt :why:

Any of y’all actually go out wearing blazers like that on the regular?

It wont look weird if you styling it for the right occasion. There are many different types on blazer. Also it gotta fit, no parachute drip.
A normal jacket is so much more appropriate in almost every situation tho. Wearing a blazer feels tacky imo

An occasion where a blazer is appropriate would be best served by a casual suit

Here's my philosophy on the art of the blazer: The main component to wearing a blazer is YOU. Blazers are for guys who exude a casual coolness. It's just in his nature. If you have nervous, erratic, in-your-face, or overly boisterous energy, then blazers probably aren't gonna be for you. A person with a laid back yet confident attitude will not only accentuate his blazer with other clothes that match in personality with the blazer, but will also by nature allow himself to blend in "behind" the ensemble while also defining it with his confidence within the outfit. Subtle sophistication but gregarious as well.

On the other hand, a more boisterous guy takes the attention away by always being "in front" of his blazer-led attire. Instead of the audience having a moment to take in an outfit that can only be judged and defined as a "totality made up of unrelated parts" (which is what a blazer led outfit should ultimately be - the lack of a matching pants for the blazer allows for, perhaps even encourages, creativity and challenging boundaries), his personality makes him dominate the ensemble, instead of defining it. Thus, he will more often than not be seen as "the guy who wore a suit jacket without the rest of his suit."

One thing I will always advise against though, is wearing jeans with a blazer. Go with casual slacks instead that adds a component to the personality of the outfit you are trying to achieve. A blazer led outfit should signal someone who took a societal norm and removed a few degrees of Fahrenheit / Celsius from it, not "middle age guy straddling 2 decades," nor should it convey "graduating from casual to business because I just had another birthday and you're seeing my in-between phase, at least that's what I think I'm supposed to be doing."

I know these guys are professional models, but if you throw a blazer-led outfit on and when you look in the mirror, if deep down inside you feel anything other than "casually cool yet magnetic," either alter the outfit or it just may be that blazer life just isn't your lane.

I have a couple myself. I’ve come to love wearing a nice cardigan over wearing a blazer. Maybe I’ll try it again when the time comes but I didn’t like it when I tried. I’ve collected a few nice button ups lately so I’ll see.
