It’s basically a suit jacket
See, this is where you

From construction to fabric choice to shoulder drop to fully canvassed vs half canvassed to pocket cut to vent selection, there are many facets to a blazer. Then, you have a blazer vs a sportscoat.

A deep, rich, navy, double vented, English tweed blazer with a herringbone stitch is :blessed:.

A normal jacket is so much more appropriate in almost every situation tho. Wearing a blazer feels tacky imo

An occasion where a blazer is appropriate would be best served by a casual suit
Wearing a blazer “classy “ up your outfit. You even move smoother and it transitions from work to play, or vice versa, effortlessly. Hell, a blazer, fitted jeans and shirt with heels is my “go to” look. Throw on my bag, “ a lil jewelry”, and I’m straight!

Those are all qualities of suit jackets tho

You just described what a bespoke tailor would run down when you walk into the building :beli:

How old are you OP?

A sportsjacket is different than a suit jacket. Sportsjacket are generally unstructured, no shoulder padding to make it more casual. Patch pockets instead of more of the jetted formal pockets. Also you can fun with the patterns more with a sportsjacket.

Pulling off a blazer really is indicative of stylishness. Most people rely on logos and hype these days and look ridiculous.

Material of a blazer matters too. I got a Barney's Cashmere blazer that shut shyt down and dressier functions.

It is completely possible to pull of a blazer with sneakers these days. Especially with the new mainstream acceptance of Jordan 1's and Air Forces. A high quality tailored tweed blazer over a red cashmere cable sweater over a button up with some pleated wool pants and some fresh Chicago Jordan 1's in the fall would be Godly drip. :whew:

Blazers are easy as hell to wear breh. Make sure you have clean outfits though. A nice double monk, chucka or Chelsea boot will compliment your blazer. If you want to wear sneakers wear a clean leather sneaker. The problem is guys want to wear Jordan’s or running shoes with their blazers. Your swag has to be top tier to pull that off.

The man I named myself after Jeff Colby is the flyest dude on television. I modeled a lot of what I wear after him and get compliments all the time.
