No they're not, Riddikks got more action and comes off like intergalactic Conan. Pitch black is your run of the mill horror sci fi. Riddikk came with a bomb ass video game.

My nikka... stuck on a desolate planet with 8 folks and Riddikk. He gets loose and is hunting folks down one by one but his real mission is to get off world because he knows something is coming, but only he knows it. Its the SAME EXACT movie.

it's one of my favorites of the series. the characters and dialogue and soundtrack were all great for the time. Fast Five was when they went away from the street racing element and made it more a mash up of Ocean's 11 meets James Bond Summer blockbuster

The first movie is dare i say classic. Tokyo drfit and all the ones after are a complete different animal.

They tried to do something different and grand with the sequel (Chronicles of Riddikk) and it wasn't working. So they went back to that B movie well. They actually did the story better in the video game.

Honestly, if it ain't broke don't fix it. It's like going to see a zombie flick. It is what it is.

to me, the Bond situations are so ridiculous ... I mean, this man is supposed to be a spy, and yet everybody knows he's a spy ... it's outrageous. So you have to treat the humour outrageously as well
