Because they have download both the email app itself and also link their email account to the built in app. Out of habit they will only check one and it isnt set to mark as read across both apps. My friends phone is like this. She has 250k emails. Almost exclusively spam.
They just want to feel important/seen as busy...sheeeiiiit how your shyt get that high when ur phone is always on ur hand 75% of the day...if they were really busy like that then everything would be read as every mail would be important
Folks emails littered with spam/adverts. Them shyts get emailed unsubscribed, marked as spam/deleted.
Other emails get filed, replied to, or a reminder set to respond at a later date.
I have co-workers with poor email etiquette that get on my nerves on our shared mailboxes. Folks reading messages and not tagging it with their name. Not filing any actioned items. Taking days to respond
I have OCD and am very meticulous about my emails. Just last night I changed the password of one, made sure to go through the Google settings to make sure my privacy is good, and I’m not sharing data that I don’t want to share. Made sure my accounts are secure via recovery email and two factor authentication.
The actual inbox I’m always emptying the spam folder, I hate spam. Emptying the trash, and sorting through the main inboxes. My shyt never goes higher than 25 messages before I start cleaning up. People that let their inbox fill up are some goddamn savages. Stop signing up to any and everything, or reserve that for a throwaway email and you won’t get so many unnecessary messages
i sign up to every site, every service with a different email
never got spam though
even back in the yahoo days when russians were selling your email address
i'm guessing you didn't off the notifications on the services you use
depends on the account. work email has no unread messages. personal account has 6000. for my main phone with my main number that people important to me have has no unread messages. same for my work phone. my phone that i use exclusively for women has all kinda unread messages.
