My issue would be in how they accumulated that wealth
How do you think most people accumulate wealth? Most people with wealth are not billionaire oligarchs

There are a lot problems you have either failed to anticipate or intentionally refuse to acknowledge that come with your proposed final solution.

Most people accumulate wealth by participating in a system that rests upon exploitation. The issue is the exploitation, not wealth in and of itself.

It's a work in progress

Your classless system would have to be exploitative too, to get someone like a teacher or a garbage man to get up in the morning and go to work everyday only to have the same opportunities and quality of life as someone who literally does nothing for society.

You and @JahFocus CS hate incrementalism and the like, but are like Republicans with Obamacare. You want to tear it all down and start over but have offered no viable solutions to replace it.

You continue to argue based on a fundamental misunderstanding of what exploitation means and what socialism entails. I'm not sure if you're incapable of getting it or if you're being intentionally dense, but either way I no longer have the patience to argue it with you. Do you with your weird and confused mix of left/right politics. Good luck

how do you solve the biological urge to exploit without eugenics & infringing on human rights and benefiting society at the same time?

answer: free markets with regulations

you darn socialists keep arguing your ideology without a single example of it being successful

civilization existed for thousands of years before capitalism and it sure as hell was not free of exploitation

What do exploitation and socialism mean? And I am not arguing against what I understand to be socialism; I am for it to a large degree. What I'm arguing against is what I understand to be communism- complete worker ownership of the means of production, which @Swavy Karl Marx has regularly advocated for :yeshrug:

No, that is the most anti-meritocratic right imaginable. Monarchs, nobility, and landlords used the same right to enslave common people like you and me in the past. Today's super-rich do the same.

A tiny minority of people get lavishly rewarded for the hard work of their parents. They did nothing to earn that reward. All the rest of us get stuck with shyt all from our parents. And we didn't do nothing that they didn't, we didn't ask to be born and we certainly didn't ask to be born outside of a highly privileged background. So while a tiny few get rewarded, everybody else gets punished for who their parents were. It's like saying if your father was a murderer, the next three generations have to pay the same penalty.

Now I'm not a communist. I think it's only fair that people who achieve higher get paid better and have better lifestyles than people who're lazy and untalented. But inheritance fukks up the game. I'm not talking about your parents leaving you the family home or a little bit of money, I'm talking about huge estates worth hundreds of millions or billions of dollars.
This was an excellent post, except for the part where you misinterpreted communism.

Can you guys please tell us exactly what communism/socialism are? Bonus points if you explain how it deals with the effort/reward problem effectively. Show of hands- who here would go through 8 years of medical school training to become a doctor who makes the same money as a janitor?

Do the seven year olds sewing your t-shirts know what it entails?

Last year @JahFocus CS started up a thread that was essentially an 'intro to Socialism', after the kinds of threads kept arising where you had all these right wingers & centrists trying to debate against Socialism while making fundamental misinterpretations. If he bumped that thread, would you actually take the time to read it?

And lol at you continuing to believe it involves absolute equality of income distribution.

Thread doesn't exist

Closest I found was this obfuscatory mess

http://www.thecoli.com/threads/the-official-socialism-thread.155127/

Can you just explain what communism is in like 2 paragraphs? Or do we all need to need to read a million books and pontificate on it for years to begin to understand it?

Oh but it does exist :usure: http://www.thecoli.com/threads/spin-introduction-to-socialism.404377/
It was earlier this year.

No, I'm sure several articles would suffice to have some understanding of it :ehh:

Socialism is just one step closer to communism. No thanks.

Capitalism is the fairest system we have. You get back what you contribute.
