I don't get why nikkas is puzzled that people struggle drinking just water...as sugar is addictive and whole generations of folks grew up drinking sugary drinks regularly.
For those struggling, I suggest doing water only challenges, where you try to drink nothing but water for an entire month. You may only make it a week the first time you try but keep trying until you can make it an entire month. Also, if you're like me, it's hard to go out to clubs/bars/lounges and not drink, so just limit yourself you straight liquor in those instances. The goal isn't perfection but completion. Once you complete a month you'll understand what us "Water is delicious" folks are talking about...your palette will be corrected back to normal.
And after that month, you'll still want to drink water most of the time, but it won't feel like you're forcing yourself to. Because, again, water is delicious.
