How to feel about all the white people protesting?

Haven't posted here in 3 years so good to be back.

I have a question on my mind that I'm not (entirely) sure what to make of...

There seems to be a significant subset of non-black population protesting for or support BLM movement and against racism in general.....I hope I don't need to convince you guys of this as you can all see the tens of thousands of people marching both in the US and abroad.

What do you make of this? I remember back when I used to surf here that the prevailing opinion were that whites were the devil and inherently racist. Did the events over the past week change anybody's mind? Do you think white people have finally come to acknowledge racial discrimination against blacks that exists in this country, at a level not seen before?

I want to make clear I'm not talking about whether all this will amount to any legislation or real change, but solely talking about mainstream perception among non-blacks.

When malcom x was around we were a higher % of the pop, the US was really just black or white, so we had alot more jobs, property, and business which is why you could use "the greenbook" and never need services of white people, now we have 20 million plus mexicans, Indians, asians....its not just black an white.


But its 2020
Black home ownership is the worst it's ever been.
Black unemployment is at a 2 decade high 16%
On pace for zero wealth by 2050
The average black family is worth 1700 minus depreciating asset.

Were not in position to self help, we need game changing policy....reparations or it's a wrap

Stand by your coworker when some racist shyt pops off.

Start a book club on Dr. King's writings or thr Auto biography of Malcolm X.

Host a viewing of some of Malcolm X's speeches.

This is the easy part.

most of em are too young for that.

these are generally young white people for the most part.

It's fine, it's needed. because I've seen how white racists/Trumpers think, and if it was just us doing it they'd write us off. they are VERY irritated that whites are out there in huge numbers.

I just wish that if i asked any of them, "why is the black and white wealth gap so large?" They'd be able to talk about slavery, systemic racism, Jim Crow etc. Like why are we disenfranchised in the first place? do you know?

We should be coming up with agendas on how we need to move forward. Let white people go to physical war with the police on the streets now (since the agenda is out there and known) and we can do other works. Best to get out of harms way

No. Black people need to be at the front directing any 'change' that happens. That means on the street too.

As far as the thread question: I have no problem with them protesting. Why would I?
