Getting the perfect credit score takes time -- as in decades. Folks shouldn't concentrate on that, since even people with great credit scores get denied credit. Just concentrate on lowering your debt to income ratio, socking away investment money (even when all you can afford is a couple dollars), and being realistic about your budget. The rest will fall into place.

That's true my score is great but I have a hard time getting a loan because my debt to income is high; because of student loans

I say let a nikka eat, on this one. As long as he's not Bernie Madoffing folks or Jack Abramoffing folks, he can eat. If someone can take inspiration from him and improve their lives the right way, why not?
