How to respond to a hater at work (the only other black dude smh)

Me and this dude are the only black people in the office. He came a few months after I did and we were cool, we even hung out after work pretty frequently. It's been about a year since he got here.

I don't know what happened, but recently this nikka did a 180. He keeps trying to roast me during staff meetings and bring up projects that I haven't completed. This week this dude dropped a dime on me and brought up my name to some other co-workers talking about a project I'm working on "Well we can't proceed yet because Clutch didn't finish his part lol"

I've won awards at work and he hasn't so I'm starting to feel like he's salty and is trying to bring me down. Crazy thing is, I don't even feel like its a competition. I just do my thing and go home. But it's getting worse, and he keeps taking shots at me more frequently.

Normally I'm a nonchalant dude but when he starts trying to son me in a work environment in front of other (white) people, I take that shyt seriously.

How would the Coli respond to this situation? Should I start clapping back? I don't want the only two black people in the office to be the ones bickering with each other, but I can't sit through disrespect like this.

Just confront the dude and find out what's up. Is there a promotion or something that's coming up? Last thing you want to do is stoop to his level and start bickering. It just makes you both look bad. At the same time, stay on top of your stuff. He may have dropped a dime on you, but he wasn't lying. It's a bytch move on his part, but I guarantee your supervisors will take notice of your lack of production regardless of whether or not he ratted you out.
