How was Biggie able to pass Rakim, Kane, G Rap as the KONY with a limited catalog.

Fukk is you talking about Juicy STILL gets play in the clubs so does Big Poppa and Warning. nikkas stay bumping Biggie in the whip.

nikkas aren't playing none of that Dear Mama, California Love, Hail Mary shyt. Ready to Die today gets more play than any Pac album, that shyt still sounds crisp unlike some of Pac's shyt that sounds dated.

Them tracks might be getting play in NY but Pac gets play in more East and West.

Ja wasn't a Pac clone, dude had a similar voice and wore bandanas and no shirt and shyt but on the mic you could clearly tell they were different. F*ck No Limit them nikkas used to steal bars from Scarface too and I don't care about no Death Row irrelevant created Pac clone. Im not saying Pac isn't influential, some nikka said he's the most copied that's not true that's Big the dude has a whole 10 part series of other rappers taking his bars.

:lolbron:
Pac stans are hilarious, Ready to Die is better than AEOM that shyts is overrated AF and got mad filler. Ready to Die is a top 10 hip hop album on most lists, I've seen plenty of lists where Pac doesn't even have a top 10 albums. Ready to Die has better production, is a bigger landmark release and has more bangers top to bottom than any Pac album and this is coming from a nikka that thinks Pac is better than Big. 7 Day Theory is a dope album but it isn't classic. Pac don't got an album with the universal critical acclaim that Ready to Die had.

I'm not gonna even bother to argue with Reciprocal he's a troll with a clear bias against NY rappers.
LAD is not better than AEOM. Disc 1 alone has more classic songs than LAD booklet 1 and 2 combined. California Love, Got My Mind Made Up, How Do U Want It, 2 of Americas Most Wanted, Only God Can Judge Me, Heartz of Men, I aint Mad At Cha, Life Goes On....:whew:. I didn't even get to book 2 in AEOM :pachaha:. Also, MATW critically is 2pac's most praised album. That album edges R2D and completely bodies LAD. Goddamn nikka your post is :duck:

We already went through this, Pac's most "critically acclaimed" album is not more critically acclaimed than Ready to Die. There was no :duck: in my post, it was a bigger landmark release, more quotables, it does have better production and it does have more bangers top to bottom, one of the highest selling debut albums, Ready to Die is always ranked higher in top hip hop albums list. AEOM is only greater in length, and has undeniable filler as do most 2 CD sets.

Pls nobody cares about most of those tracks you listed, with Ready to Die you're talking about Juicy, Big Poppa, Gimme the Loot, Machine Gun Funk, Everyday Struggle, Me and My bytch, The What, Suicidal Thoughts, Ready to Die, Things Done Changed, etc.

1. AEOM had a bigger commercial success than R2D and LAD. The album is well above 10 million copies. 2pac's singles as well have charted better.
2. Most of the "critical acclaim" comes from the timing of its release. The album brought East Coast music on the map commercially after the radio domination of the West.
3. Nobody cares of the tracks that I listed? Lol, those are classic songs that get critical acclaim from the hip hop community as well as commercial success across the globe (more so than Biggie's singles). Im not going to be as ignorant as you so I will note that R2D tracks you have listed are club bangers (especially Big Poppa).

1. No it didn't Life After Death went Diamond, no Pac album has yet to be certified Diamond by the RIAA. All Eyez On Me sold a ton of copies after Pac's death, it was certified 5x Platinum a few months after released as a 2 CD set that means 2.5 million copies of the album were sold. Ready to Die sold a legit 4 million copies in going 4x Platinum. The only Pac albums from AEOM to chart top 50 are California Love and How Do U Want It which went 2x Platinum as singles and charted number one, while on Ready to Die you have Juicy, One More Chance and Big Poppa which all charted highly and went gold or platinum. Then you have Life After Death where Hypnotize, Mo Money Mo Problems and Sky's the Limit were hits, two of those charted number one and two went platinum while the other went gold as a single.

2. :comeon: show some respect it was a genuinely dope album, one of the greatest it deserved the reviews it got. You had other albums like Illmatic, 36 Chambers, Tical, Midnight Marauders during that stretch coming out the East as well.

3. I didn't mean it like that my bad :whoa:

I would also like to say that AEOM had a shytload of features, while on Ready to Die it was solo outside of The What where Method Man was featured. The only club banger is Big Poppa, Juicy wasnt intended as that but it just became an anthem because of the lyrics and sample.

Yes before Big was King of New York, Rakim, Kane, KRS and Grap were suppose to take the crown into the 90's. They all released albums but none of those albums lived up to what "Ready To Die" or "ILLmatic" did. This left the door open for Biggie and NaS to come in. Jay really didn't get into the conversation until after Big's death. "Ready To Die" is the reason Big was given the torch over the 80's Legends. Rakim had "Let the Rhythm Hit you" and "Don't Sweet the Technique" but then basically disappeared when Dre and Snoop took over.

Then Kane after the Playboy Fiasco kinda lost the streets. Ironically he released his album "Daddy's Home" on the exact same day as "Ready To Die". G Rap did release albums all through the 90's but they didn't have the same Impact as Big and NaS did. KRS released 3 solid solo's in the 90's. So again the Vets put in work but there albums didn't have the Impact to stop the West Dominance. Big got the crown cause he was also to drop quality for the streets but also had the commercial success to match.
