Superman wasn't raised to be a fighter, however he did receive training from Jor-El while in the fortress of solitude with training videos stored in the crystals.
But he did fight crime while under a yellow sun. There's only one problem with this logic, there's no such thing as a yellow sun, but that's another topic.
And as far as fighting Zod don't forget, Sups was in the justice league and fought friggin Doomsday & what's his name...Darkseid, who are more powerful than both superman and zod combined!
Superman was to earth as what Nas is to hip hop!

Jor El mentions DNA, cells and genetics of a people that by all accounts looks, bleeds and eats like us. We have no reason to assume their biology plays by a different set of rules then ours. Having the "DNA of every Kryptonian" meaningless statement since a strain DNA in one person is the same DNA in other, just switched slightly around. Tossing in more DNA in to a person wouldnt do anything.
All of this ignores the fact that what Jor El put in Clark is a genetic registry of every Kryptonian birth, not DNA so
