Yeah, but Zod had to have trained in some hand to hand, I mean our military men are better hand to hand fighters than the average guy on the street. They aren't on the level of someone that trains a discipline regularly but I'd pick them in a fight over just some dude with no experience.

Superman had never been in a fight before, Zod clearly had, yet Superman is beating up everyone or holding his own. And Zod adjusted to the atmosphere & honed his senses in the end, and still got his neck broke

Superman wasn't raised to be a fighter, however he did receive training from Jor-El while in the fortress of solitude with training videos stored in the crystals.
But he did fight crime while under a yellow sun. There's only one problem with this logic, there's no such thing as a yellow sun, but that's another topic.

And as far as fighting Zod don't forget, Sups was in the justice league and fought friggin Doomsday & what's his name...Darkseid, who are more powerful than both superman and zod combined!

I love superman as a character and I have read the comics since I was a kid.. with that said I´v reeeeally tried to like this movie, and like everyone else says the action is actually nice but besides that I fukking hate this movie.. the flashbacks retarded af and after watching a movie for two hours I didnt feel like I connected to any of the main characters.. and one of the main problems for me was martha kent, she looked like some meth producing white trash redneck, wtf was that? and then we have his pops telling him that its okay to be passive while people die.. I mean trough the history of superman its been said that hes sense of honor justice and all that stems from his parents.. but in this movie they looked and acted like low life cowards... pops died saving a fukking dog... shiiiit / rant over

The action was dope but there wasn't enough of it and they deviated away from the story too much. I liked how they tried to flip the story but it felt rushed. It goes back to one of my main gripes about this movie. The plot they created should've been spread over 2 movies.

Because the movie was trash and lazy. Jor El got the upped hard on multiples soldiers before he died. Clark got the upper hand on multiple superpowered soldiers despite never fighting a day in his life. Lets not forget how he managed to render Zod powerless with a simple headlock

Clark never fought nobody growing up and was always passive. That was probably his first fight. I say probably because they skipped through his whole fukking childhood and teenage years
