How was the first funeral you can remember?

My little brother will be attending his first funeral and I'm wondering whats running through his head since he's never seen a dead body.

It wasn't a big deal for me when I went to my first funeral cuz I was very young & death didn't hit me til years later so it was

First one I ever went to was for my aunt. I didn't see the body but I went to the burial. Then we had hella food. I was a preteen so I didn't really get it.

edit: the hardest was my mom. mainly because people were giving me all kinds of attention that i didn't need. also a crack head burst in halfway through and sat on the floor in front of the church. they also tried to convert me to christianity despite my avid devotion to satan. i actually ended up leavin early and going to the bar.

It was for my cousin. I was 8, he was 21. I remember knowing the idea behind death, but not really getting the full emotion. I knew he was gone forever, but I was confused as to why I wasn't crying hard like everyone else. I remember touching his forehead, and it was just super cold- gave me the chills because there was no life there.

I was six and I didn't think too much of it.

It was my grandfather and I didn't know him well enough to cry or anything.

It was what it was.

I was 10 and it my grandfather's funeral. I remember seeing my dad cry for the first time. Then I had to the altar and read a few chapters out of the Bible in front of everyone at the service. I was scared but everyone said I did good.

First one was my Mom 6 years old. I cried alot kissed her and told her I love her.

It was my grandma .. she lived with my family and at that point I must have been like 6 or 8. She was a good woman and did right by people all her life. I remember at her funeral, I was trying to not cry but there was a trigger like a note or a thought like "this is the last time I'm gonna see her" and then then I looked up and my older brother was holding steady but when I cracked a little he was like "dammit, why you look at me now I can't hold it in ". I don't know how to end this on a good note, but I guess the lesson I took from it was if you feel sorry or guilty about something you've done to them apologize because you never know if they'll be there tomorrow.

first funeral i ever went to was for this kid from my neighborhood. got shot in the chest. sad sad shyt. then the goons from the hood decided to fight with cops outside the funeral home.

the 1st funeral i can remember i was about 8, it was my lil sisters grandma, i didnt like her cuz she was mean and blind. they would make me walk her to the bathroom n she would be like can u wipe me and id just go silent thinking since she couldnt see me id pretend i aint hear her and ignore the request. but i guess she knew i was there cuz she'd attempt to wipe herself then come on out so i can walk her back to the couch. seeing her in the coffin fucced me up. i rarely do funerals because of that. ive walked out of 3 funerals when they do the walk past the body at the end.

bonus: my grannys i was mad my granny didnt look like herself. she had on red nail polish n my granny always said red nail polish was for whores, so it just didnt feel right. she was bloated 3 times her size from when she died. i didnt even stay long enuf for the funeral to start i immediately left n went n sat in the car.
