I never understood the appeal to bjj in a street fight. Like you REALLY gotta trust your opponent is gonna give you a fair one to try that shyt irl. Boxing is best imo because it gives you the best field of vision, range of motion and tactical retreat positioning. Not about to put myself on the ground in a street fight, done seen too many mfs getting stomped on the ground. Yall can have that shyt:hubie:

Brehs better get up on that 52 Blocks/Jailhouse Rock.

Add a lil ground game to it and it's all you need.

Arguably the only organic, black dos martial art.

I always thought jailhouse what's up at 5 percent practiced

Back in the day was a lot 5%ers in Jersey. That part of the subculture.

Boxing the bigger sport is full of black legends and stars.

So not surprising they're all flocking to MMA. Even in MMA, there have been black legends who've dominated for time. :mjlit: You don't need to have power or knockout ability, your ground game is enough to win. Regardless it all starts standing up. :mjlit:

Just a matter of time before it's the same. :umad:

You see how all the racist pos go all out on Tyron Woodley? Destroyed that brit cac recently. :blessed:

Remember in my first response to you I talked about using boxing as a foundation for street fighting. Most of the time you won't be in a situation where you need to be doing Whirlwind roundhouse kicks and things of that nature. Be much easier for you to Fawn, slip throw a white cross or a left hook they will for you to be doing Turn Around kicks. Elbows very low kicks to the shin in the knee could be very useful though.

+ a million.

Boxing is by far the most important stand up in any street situation, and wrestling/judo are by far the best grappling arts for streets.

Precise punching, being evasive with the head and foot movement >>>>> kicking and mediocre punching.

Nobody is going to be kicking in jeans. Also, it's easy to mix in elbows when you already know how to box..it's basically the same lower body mechanics and a short hook with the elbow.

I hear you breh.

I'm not sure how many fights you have been in, for all I know you might have been in 10x as many as I have. But, growing up, I was constantly fighting. Every single day almost. No one liked me, I didn't like them.

But moreso to the point, 99% of the time, you are not going to be fighting a professional boxer.
This is how most of the fights went down.

"You really going to use your legs? No legs, fight like a man!"
"You cant just grab him! No grabs, fight like a man!"
"Let him get up, dont hit him when he's down! Fight like a man!"

What do all these sound like? Boxing rules. Boxing was arguably the biggest sport in the world at the time and it shaped how we all viewed manliness and streetfighting.

So, while I agree that a trained boxer can wash most people in a fight without resorting to grabs or legs, the fact is that most people are not trained fighters.
We just adopted boxing for streetfight rules because we saw it as manly and apropos for contest between 2 men.

Fastforward to 2018, if someone gets in a fight with me now and they want to only use boxing techniques on me, I can almost guarantee you that unless they are a real boxer... i'm going to beat the shyt out of them.

And not because i'm better, but because of the inherent restrictions in their martial art of choice

Sorry, but no.

MMA is not an art form, it's a random combination of any martial art you can conjure up or apply.

This has nothing to do with rules or the sport. Nothing changes the fact that boxing is still the most important stand up martial art in a street scenario though.

You aren't going to kick in jeans or risk losing balance

You aren't going to "stand and bang" like how they teach you in muay thai.

You are going to use footwork

You are going to be evasive

And you are going to be quick

All of this >>>>>>>>>>>> being mediocre at a bunch of things.

Elbows are not a big deal to learn. Anyone that can throw a strong hook or an uppercut can throw an equally devastating elbow..it's literally IN THE MECHANICS.

Unless you are up against somebody that can shoot wrestling style you are gravy. Even BJJ..you have to get somebody to the ground first.

Know how to box, know some judo and a bit of wrestling and you are more than okay.

A knife stops all of that. I can say with 100% confidence with no training I can take on every trained Coli member. You WILL get cut and chances are I'll do way more damage than your punches or kicks. That MMA shyt goes out the window when you're going against a knife, whether they untrained or not.

So if you really want protection but don't have the time to train, carry a knife.
