Eh….I don’t know. I have a been persuaded by the argument that Republicans went along here as a way to stem the intensity to remove the filibuster. But ultimately, voting rights will bring it back to the forefront.

For sure. It would have been a massive L for Republicans to talk up infrastructure for 5 years only to stonewall it and allow dems to go it alone via reconciliation. It almost certainly would have been a boost for progressives and the push to remove the filibuster as you said.

I'm sure we will hear a lot of, "well we can do bipartisanship if it's reasonable" going forward. But the threat to remove the filibuster will come back as you've said.
