How would explain the disconnect between the white/black experience to a white person?

I'm not a coli militant, I don't believe all white people are the devil. etc. etc... now that that's out the way. I will admit that it can be a bit frustrating getting white people to understand the black plight. I'm also not a fool, I'm willing to admit their is a segment that could give a fukk about reason. But I feel as their is a larger segment that can't completely grasp the scenario we have been thrust into. And if we were to explain it, they could see where we are coming from. Or maybe I'm just a dreamer. Anyways, how would you explain the current situation of Black people to a white person willing to listen. Not saying it would change anything. But just give them something that would make them understand that our position, while malleable, isn't totally in our control.

Tell them to youtube

Jane Elliot brown eyes blue eyes experiment

the notion that white people(or any people) are inherently racist is absurd. and doesn't factor in things such as jingoism, nationality, majority rules, ruling class, etc... if a white person where to go to a school of 1000 black people/asian people/indian people etc..they could experience racism too. often those with numbers have power.

Your trying to change people who won't let us sag our pants and wear hoodies yet push us to wear dresses.

Their logic is too fukked up to get to them

I ain't trying to change shyt. I've already stated that there will be people who could give a shyt about anything logical or not. But to assume a majority of people are like that is absurd imo.

It comes down to the difference between empathy and sympathy. Empathy is personally relating to an experience and feeling solidarity with that person(like if two people are rape victims),
whereas sympathy is when you feel a solidarity for another person that has nothing to do with your own personal experience (like feeling bad for a victim of rape when you yourself have not been raped). One is more deep and emotionally driving than another.

As a white/Latin guy, I will never know what the black experience is like in its totality. True empathy for something like that is impossible to gain in this in this society, even when white people WANT to understand.

However (and I've had this confirmed by several activists I have spoken to) this doesn't mean that all white people are bad/Devils, or can't possess a form of sympathy that can advance the causes of blacks and other minorities.

Any white person who is willing to listen will listen already. It's been centuries already

I wasn't aware people lived a thousand years. that's not even logical, that's like blaming your white neighbor for slavery.

but they dont experience systematic racism. A school where your peers are against you is different than a system designed to oppress you. Howard Stern went to an all black school got his ass whipped all the time and he turned out alright, it's not the same as being denied housing/loans/jobs/treatment of the police etc...real life shyt.

So you think the majority of White people hate Black people? To be honest I believe social media has ushered in an age of quasi activism. where people express views online they don't generally follow thru with offline and that goes for everybody. It's almost like two separate plains of existence. It's not against my online morality to call a mexican chick a square body bytch online. But offline, I don't have a problem opening doors for mexican women. if you get what i mean.

So if you were Howard Stern you would be ok with black people? despite the fact that's a micro issue in the grand scheme of things. I'm sure that would definitely make him feel some kind of way about black people. matter of fact If you were black and went to an all black school and got beat the fukk up all the time would you like black people too?

To be honest I doubt you could pull that off. It seems that the white collective believes that all black people social problems is because they don't conform to society ( White people version) of what's acceptable. It seems there's white people you can put in categories.

1) The ignorant white guy who's so wrapped around his own ignorance it's impossible to talk to them ( Favorite station Fox News)

2) The liberal white person who sympathizes, but gets tired of talking about it after awhile, because they don't experience racism consistently, so they don't want to talk about it consistently. ( You can only go so far with them)

3) The white person who grew up in the same environment. Now they may generally sympathize in the beginning, but as they grow older and they " Straighten up" ( Not everyone is Eminem), attitude changes.

These are just my opinions :yeshrug:
