They need to give Apollo a defining character first. It feels like right now his character is that he's dope in the ring, which is cool - but he needs something more.

Three or four months of "fighting champion" title defenses. Then he gets cocky and he blends into a heel for a bit.
Loses the title, debuts on the main roster around Royal Rumble...is midcard from the start. By summer he earns a shot and is champ for a month, but loses via cheap heel shyt.
Since he hopefully hasn't faced Cena or was neutered, the fans are still behind him and he has a second, longer reign.

This. He's great in the ring, but outside of being a positive black man that's grateful for an opportunity to be in the WWE, i don't know what his character is, unless that's it, and if that's the case, he's dead in the water when he hits the main roster. He'd basically be mini-Ezekiel Jackson from his face run.
He just seems like a happy go lucky face. Sorta like a talented version of Blue Chipper Rocky Maivia..
I don't see a WM main event in that.

definitely not like a chicken shyt...every once in a while he'll pull a cheap win but for all purposes. Angle/Benoit type champ talk how he's better than all of his competition and backs it up. Hasn't really shown anything exciting promo wise so i can't say he's a bad promo but Titus O'neill as muscle/mouth piece
