He's not a Pippen, he's more like an elite scorer that's needed to a team that is only lacking scoring like this current Denver team. The Knicks are lacking a lot more than scoring though.

So what if you put Melo on the current Bull's roster without Rose?

He gets the most out of his teams in the regular season but he can't make adjustments for sh*t. As much as a miss Woody in the regular season, Drew is much better in the playoffs as a coach.

Honestly breh, Melo might could get to the ECF with those boys. They pass the ball so much better than the Knicks as well. I don't think that's enough to be beat Miami.

Pass first PG
Spot up SG
Melo
All around PF that can make the 15 footer
Defensive finisher

Basically, the only way I can see to build around him would be how the Celtics won their title. A coach that will tell him to make his moves quickly, this dude burns so much of the clock, and it's not like he's Wade/Kobe/Bron where he could end up passing, you know there's a damn good chance he's shooting.

Looking back at it, the worst thing that happened to him was not being drafted second, the Pistons would have been the perfect situation for him.

What if you could swap in Wes Matthews and David West? Title contender if Melo, Felton, abd Chandler remain?

Agree about the Pistons. The Pistons thought he would disturb the chemistry. If anything he would have helped them continue their success. Dumars biggest fk up to me more than signing Charlie V and Ben Gordon to terrible deals.

Swap out Felton for Rubio would really do the trick. The thing is, those players are worth more than what you are willing to give up and I don't think Minny will give up Rubio for even Melo.

I think that would work, shyt if Melo swapped places with Paul George that would be an ideal roster for him as well. Anytime that plays top notch defense but also struggles to score would work with Melo, especially since you can get offense from Hibbert/West.

They would have 3 peated if they had Melo, after they won the title they had a lot of trouble scoring, the Spurs wouldn't have had an answer for him and they would get by the Heat in 06 with him.

I don't know about the Pacers and Melo. Paul George might be better overall. George will never be as good or close to Melo on offense, he is superior on man and team defense than Melo. I do think Indy needs a #1 option scorer but that's with George not without him on the roster.

The Pistons overvalued their personnel after the win over LA. They thought they were better than what they were. Little did they know that their offense was going to take a step back. Prince wasn't as good as they hoped. Rip was effective but he wasn't a legit #1 for a championship team and Billups wasn't what he was the season they won it all. More importantly, they got lazy since no one could simply carry a team on their offense. They overrated their squad and it killed them. They didn't do their homework on Darko the way they should have as well. Just a lot of bad mistakes.

Maybe the Bulls? :yeshrug: Rose, Butler, Melo, Mirotic, Noah can compete with the Heat imo. And contrary to popular belief Rose is a pass first PG.. Butler can be that spot up shooter(He's starting to master that corner 3), Noah the defensive anchor, and Thibs is already one of the best coaches in the NBA. Only question mark really would be Mirotic and how he'll perform in the NBA. IMO I think best bet for the Bulls to get a superstar to pair with Rose is Melo.

In My opinion he isn't an effective first option. I feel he'd be best suited on a team with a legit scoring 4 or 5 who can regularly score 1 on 1 in the post, occasionally demand a double, and has the ability to pass out of the post. I.E Boozer. He needs a post player to take the heat off of him, and to keep him from being himself (dreadfully inefficient)

I think Melo would excel being in an offense that goes thru the post primarily but he occasionally goes one on one in crunch time situations. Similar to the Celtics in 08; offense primarily went thru KG With Paul taking over late, Melo would play the Pierce role.
