He's a genius in the ring. A storyteller without peer considering he got fans more involved in his matches than anyone in the Attitude Era. He never really botched..people want to perceive that Sharpshooter as it needing to look a certain way. The guy is 275lbs..it was never gonna be done like little Bret or Owen's. The Rock is the definition of being special enough in the ring where he doesn't have to suicide bumps and spots like Michaels, Foley, and Hardy had to get fans into any shyt he did. He made an elbow drop the most over move in wrestling history. You'll never see anything like it again.

A rank below Cena which isn't bad because Cena is a high level worker. Rock could be carried without hassle and he could carry absolute bums with his charisma so he's not trash by a long shot.

Technical wise he wasn't good his punches looked like bytch slaps and his sharpshooter was an insult to the move itself. But in his defense he was good at telling a story in the ring and when he was an active wrestler he was well conditioned and able to to keep up pace wise with most in the industry. He is basically what John Cena is today.

the crazy thing about Rock is he only wrestled like 6 years, and retired from full time performing at age 30. Most of the best wrestlers EVER don't reach their peak until like 32.

For y'all that question Rock's wrestling skills, can y'all provide proof of bad matches?? Post 5, better yet 1.

I always thought dude was a solid wrestler. For his era easily top 10 and in the F at the time prolly top 5.

I mean really, after Shawn and Angle and Austin possibly....... Who else would y'all say was better Bob Holly? Billy Gunn? Val Venus? Mideon??

He was soooooooooo much better than a lot of dudes, but it seems like cats wanna diss him cu he wasn't Angle/Beniot/Malenko level and he didn't throw Tyson like punches

I give him a 6, story telling was excellent as a face or heel. Limited move set but he did work on the level of his opponent , he was no HBK but who is? Rocky was a talent for sure just not on a Savage or Steamboat level or near Kurt's level either, that is being unbiased like@R=G .

Some of yall need to realize that being a good "Technical wrestler" is not the only criteria for being a good overall worker.

Rock knew how to tell a story in the ring better than the vast majority of people and did so without using crazy spots all the time or putting a ridiculous amount of stress on his body. There's a reason guys like Jericho, Austin, Foley, and talk about how much they loved working with him.

Rock had one of the most memorable matches of all time at Wrestlemania 18 with an old Hulk Hogan.....On that same card Chris Jericho and HHH put on a good match that was technically sound and for the WWE title and most people don't even remember that shyt happened.

By 2002 he was really good. Had he not moved on to movies he would have only gotten better. He was Def top 5 athlete ever in the wwf. To be his size doing kip ups flawlessly like that was crazy

He could put on a good match for sure. His offense looked really goofy and cartoonish though. His timing was great, and selling as a babyface in peril was good too. I'd say he was good.

I believed what he did in and out of the ring, paid my money to see it and many others did too.

-P-

That's the problem with him in ring imo, he wasn't believable at all to me. He had a lot of good qualities but his style was very goofy and non-violent looking.
