In that field you have Tesla who laid out the groundwork when it was a niche product at large losses to scale their business. When electric cars take off Tesla will have first mover and mindshare advantages.
Microsoft is doing that scaling their business while it's a niche product so that as it takes off they're already in a position to dominate. All these other companies want to take cloud gaming in the more traditional model of you buy the individual games or they want you to only really access older titles on their cloud gaming services. The ongoing subscription based model is going to be far more lucrative.
Now you look and Netflix wants in. All these tech giants like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Nvidia circling this and indicative of something. I think Microsoft is the only one of any of them to get the business model right. Phil Spencer was a visionary when it came to this as he started pivoting the entire focus of Microsoft in gaming to this years ago.
