What's considered poverty in America would be considered heaven to the people growing up in slums in Brazil, Mexico, Jamaica, etc.

There are poor countries without a lot of homicides, but they tend to have strong police forces and authoritarian justice systems. Latin America in general is not like this. For example, one of the world's worst serial killers in the world is in Colombia, and is set to be released in a few years (he sexually assaulted and killed 150+ boys if I'm not mistaken).

The dominant genre of music throughout the Spanish speaking world is Reggaeton, which mostly features sex and romance as lyrical themes. There are some guys who mention street shyt (like that song Anuel AA and Snitch9 did together) but that's a minority.
